Sandringham School was recently visited by 12 MBA students from the University of Pretoria‘s, Gordon Institute of Business Science, which currently offers ‘world class, internationally accredited MBA programmes‘. The group are currently spending ten days in the UK and The Netherlands as part of their global module which marks the final leg of their 2 year MBA programme.
The London tour culminated in a visit to Sandringham school, where in addition to meeting key staff and having a tour of the school, they had the opportunity to work with Our Year 13 Business Studies and Business Economics students. As part of the workshop activity, students worked collaboratively with MBA students from South Africa.
This was followed by a lecture delivered by Dr. Adrian Saville, professor of Economics and Finance. He offered invaluable insight into the emerging market economy and highlighted some of the difficulties that South Africa and other countries are currently grappling with.
After the lecture our students had the opportunity to quiz our visitors about the issues that South Africa is dealing with, such as unemployment, poverty, corporate social responsibility.
It was a very successful event and the group leaders, Angela Hlalele and Adrian Saville said that the experience at Sandringham School had so far been the ‘highlight of their trip‘ and had offered the group a ‘very real insight into world-class education.‘
