Congratulations to all our year 13 students who have achieved outstanding A-level and BTEC results this summer. School records have been broken once again with large numbers of students achieving the very highest grades. More than two thirds of all results were either A*, A or B grades meaning many students reached the ABB threshold enabling them access to the very best Universities.
As far as we are aware, all those who have applied for a place at University have now been accepted and they will be off later this year to start the next phase of their education. The majority of these will be at one of the top 40 Universities in the country.
Four students have gained Oxbridge places this year – special congratulations to them. They are:
- Rosie Calthrop – Queens College, Cambridge to study Medieval and Modern languages
- Carenza Harvey – St. Hughes College, Oxford to study History
- Bethany Nelson – Clare College, Cambridge to study Philosophy
- Alice Raw – Jesus College, Oxford to study History
A large number have chosen to study sciences, maths or medicine at the top Universities.
Particular congratulations to twins Carenza and Perran Harvey for gaining straight As in all their subjects and also to Matthew Elvidge achieved a grade A in his Chemistry despite sitting the final examination in hospital 20 minutes before having surgery to remove his appendix!
Once we have checked all results we will update the performance section of our web site with more detail of the results.
