Sandringham awarded BRONZE Certification in the National School Travel Award Programme
Sandringham is proud to have been awarded the Bronze certification in recognition that over 80% of our students walk to school. This year, we came in 14th place nationally in the Sustrans ‘Big Pedal’ campaign to encourage students to cycle to school for the benefit of their own health and reducing pollution. We continue to ask parents and students to consider sustainable transport to school by walking, cycling or using public transport for longer distances.
Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.
