Admission to Sandringham – Open Morning Tours

We have arranged five Open Morning Tours where prospective families (parents and children) can walk the school during a normal day. This gives you a great opportunity to see learning in action and experience the school ethos. We have guides to take you on tour and all classrooms are open for you to drop in and see what is going on. In our view, this is a powerful way to see the school in operation to help you make that important decision on where your children should be educated.

Tour dates are Wednesday 18th, Friday 20th, Monday 30th September, and Tuesday 1st, Friday 4th October 2019. Please contact the school reception to reserve a space (they are very popular).

Tours commence at 9.00 a.m from Reception and conclude at 10.45 a.m, Booking is essential.

We look forward to welcoming you then.

St Albans Mental Health Conference 24/25 November

The St Albans Mental Health Conference, a collaboration between YC Hertfordshire, Sandringham School and the OLLIE Foundation, is fast approaching and takes place on the 24th and 25th November at Sandringham School.

This event boasts Natasha Devon MBE and Jonny Benjamin MBE as keynotes with international speakers and workshops hosts from the USA, Poland, Russia and Mexico as well as local experts such as Prof.John Coleman, Dr Kathy Weston, Dr. Alison Cowan and practitioners from the Maudsley and Elysium Hospitals.

The main themes this year are resilience, health eating, communication and transition (from year 11 to year 12 and 6th form on to university, traineeships and work). Within those themes, delegates will be able to hear from leading experts in the area of neuroscience and the teen brain, bullying, early years education, the trauma of adoption, goal setting, healthy eating and eating disorders and much much more.
In addition to a wide range of talks and workshops there will be a marketplace and networking opportunities for teachers, parents, students and other professionals.

I attach the timetable of the day, as you can see the event is going to provide a much needed and welcomed opportunity to share, learn and connect so we can better support our communities and young people. On Saturday, we will have a normal conference format with keynote speakers and workshops, and Sunday will see CPD based workshop. You can attend Saturday or both days. Please visit our website for further information

You can keep up to date with speakers and workshops by following us on Twitter – we are @StAlbansMHC #staMHC and Facebook
